Myself, Kim and Rachael took the kids on a Hill Country Flyer from Austin to Burnet, TX. The Hill Country Flyer is a 6 hour steam train ride. Burnet is sold as a charming little Texas town full of antiques, beautiful scenerey and quaint little places to eat. I wouldn't say that was exactly how it was when we got there but we made the best of it and ended up having a blast.
Hot chocolate served in the cars
Our car was the Chicago car. There was the sweetest old man as our ticket puncher. He had been working on the trains for 60 years. Our car was full of pictures from Chicago, so Ethan and Sophie got to tell the stories of when they visited Chicago. Sophie girl remembered so much from the trip.
How Ethan and Sophie entertained themselves while the mamma's shopped.
Aunt Kim bought art on vacation. They said never say never b/c a few weeks earlier Kim was making fun of mamma for buying art and she said she would never do it. LOL
Who knew you could buy a selfie stick in Burnet at an antique shop and make it into a entire day of entertainment?!?!
